Le Quatre Epices:
This is a typically French mixture that comes from the Middle Ages when spices made their first appearances in Europe. It is sometimes confused with Jamaican pepper, sometimes called allspice. This berry in the shape of large peppercorns is actually reminiscent of the four-spice mixture which is composed of cinnamon, nutmeg, pepper and cloves .
It will be tasty in white meats, terrines, cold meats but also in cakes and desserts. It will surprise you with barbecued beef! In chutneys it is perfectly suitable to provide a sweet and spicy flavor.
It is also a Christmas blend: it will go perfectly with gingerbread, speculoos or Stollen. Five Spices: Five spices come from China. It is a typical assembly widely used in southern China. It consists of five flavors: Sichuan pepper, star anise (star anise), Chinese cinnamon (cinnammum cassia), clove and fennel. It is a captivating blend undeniably reminiscent of the Orient. It is used with white meat, pork, duck and of course with soy sauce. Good day,
